There have been times when Healthcare Professionals believe that their Xbox is not working correctly. These issues are usually down to the maintenance of the Xbox and can be solved very quickly with a solid internet connection. If this applies to you, please make sure you have checked the following:
Storage – Please ensure your Xbox storage does not exceed 96%. If there is not enough room for the games and apps installed, the Xbox will have difficulty loading games. If the Xbox’s storage is full, uninstall the least popular games on the console. (Please note, if you uninstall a game, don’t panic! It will not be gone forever. You can reinstall them at any time with a strong internet connection).

Updates – Updating your Xbox is vital to keep it running fast and smoothly. An outdated Xbox is unhappy and may start to act up if it needs an update. Updating your Xbox requires a strong internet connection, and you must keep the plug intact while in the middle of an update. The speed of the update will depend on the strength of your internet connection. If you see a spinning circle on the screen and the update is not progressing, your internet connection is likely not strong enough.

Power Issues – If your Xbox is not powering on whatsoever, the cause will most likely be the power cable. The orange power cable stretches up to 3m and can often be overstretched in a hospital environment when trying to reach certain areas. Please open your Medical Gaming Cart and check that the orange connector is firmly inside the back of the Xbox.
The above also applies to the Gaming Monitor. Please ensure that the HDMI Cable and Power Cable have a secure connection to the back of the screen and the back of the Xbox.
The Xbox asks for a security code as a protective measure because it thinks somebody could have stolen the console.
We receive the code via our email address or phone number and will send it to you immediately upon request.
Please only generate one code, as it can be confusing for us to link the correct code to the correct Xbox. Every time you generate a new code, the previous one expires.
When we provide the Xbox console, we do not set a PIN.
If a patient has set up a PIN on the Xbox and you cannot access restricted console features, follow these steps:
After setting a new PIN, you must disable the PIN option in the settings:
You’ll need to turn the Nintendo Switch off correctly (instead of putting it into Sleep Mode) to prevent it from running out of charge when undocked or unplugged.
Hold the circular power button for 3 seconds to turn the Nintendo Switch off. You can find the button on the top left of the console (next to the volume buttons). The power menu will appear on the screen; from here, click ‘Power Options’, followed by ‘Turn Off’.
The Nintendo Switch console will charge when you plug the Gaming Cart into the wall. When the Gaming Cart is unplugged, and the Switch is in Sleep Mode, the console will use all its battery power until completely drained.
So that you know, our Charitable funds are limited in supporting and sustaining existing Medical Gaming Carts. We rely heavily on donations from the general public, allowing us to offer a free service to the NHS.
Deliberate Damage
We reserve the right to refuse our free service if your Gaming Cart takes deliberate damage multiple times. Intentional damage due to neglect on numerous occasions will be chargeable.
Repeat Issues
If you are facing repeat issues due to not following our advice or maintaining your Xbox properly (and have already received our support for the issue in question), we reserve the right to charge for Royal Mail postage labels to obtain the console back. Depending on the complexity of the problem, a £50 charge may be necessary to restore your Xbox to its original state.
This covers the cost of Royal Mail return postage labels, packaging, and the time it takes to restore the console.
TheRockinR would never charge for a component that is faulty or fails within a time that we deem reasonable. It is crucial that your Gaming Carts work effectively and stand up to the test of time.
Stolen Consoles
If your Xbox or Nintendo Switch console goes missing due to leaving the Gaming Cart unlocked and unattended, TheRockinR cannot be held responsible for supplying a free replacement. The total cost of a new console will be chargeable.
We will charge an additional fee if the console needs re-wiring inside the Gaming Cart, as we must travel to your hospital to do this.
